Tamara Grose

Born into a family of dance, Tamara began her training under the tutelage of her parents in Charlotte, N.C. Her mother was a ballet instructor of the highest International Cecchetti Instructor status, and Director of Charlotte City Ballet. Her father was a national ballroom and tap instructor and served as president of D.M.A. and D.E.A. Tamara went on to further her dance education earning a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Performing Arts, Harkness House on scholarship, Certificate of Accomplishment with High Honors Cecchetti grades 4-6 at Michigan State University’s Cecchetti Conferences, and other numerous national and international dance institutes. A few of Tamara’s major influences have been Lar Lubovitch, Finis Jung, Margaret Craske, Melissa Hayden and David Howard. Some of Tamara’s accomplishes include performing under the direction of Agnes DeMille, Aaron Copland, Marcel Marceau, Richard Englund (ABT Junior Company Director), George Butler (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo), Norbert Vesak, David Howard. Harkness Ballet, Pauline Koner Dance Concert, Gail Grant, N.Y.C, Shakespearian Festival, Dance Congress in N.Y.C., North Carolina Dance Theater, Jacob’s Pillow, Birmingham Civic Ballet, Charlotte City Ballet.
She has choreographed for N.Y.C. Dance Congress, National Thespian Society, National Endowment for the Performing Arts Festival N.C.S.A., North Carolina Dance Theater, International Dancing Poetry Festival, Showcase Talent, and numerous regional dance companies throughout the U.S.A., and various North Bay productions.

Tamara on Pointe

Ms. Grose has extensive teaching experience having taught for, Allegra Kent Ballet School in Scarsdale, N.Y., Brooklyn College Dance Department, Master Classes on tour with The National Artist in the Schools Residency Program in 30 U.S. states, company classes for North Carolina Dance Theater tour (having been offered the choice of dancer or Ballet Mistress for N.C.D.T., she chose to dance).

Ms. Grose is a certified yoga instructor and is an adjunct faculty instructor of ballet and yoga for Santa Rosa Junior College. She recently choreographed for SRJC’s production of Les Miserable and is choreographer for SRJC’s 2014 production of Cherry Orchard.
